Maps
The Cayman Islands comprise three low-lying islands: Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac. They are situated along a mountain range called the Cayman Ridge which is continuous with the Sierra Maestra mountains of south-eastern Cuba. The Cayman Ridge is almost completely submerged beneath the sea. Only the mountain summits rise above the sea surface, forming the Cayman Islands as we know them today.
